Nikos Oikonomidis
1953 – Born in Faliron, Piraeus, parentage from Constantinople.
1958-1971 – Grew up in the center of Athens, Kipseli and graduated from the 15th Gymnasium of Athens.
1970 – Studied painting in George Voyagis’ workshop.
1972 – Further studies in the UK Bristol (Filton Technical College) then on to London (Slade School of Fine Arts).
1973 – He was a member of council of the Greek Students Union in London (S.E.F.L.)
1977 – Worked in Christina Moralis’ ceramic workshop.
1979 – He established “THITIA” bookstore in Pangrati, Athens.
1991 – Member of the Greek Chamber of Fine Arts.
He lives and works in Halandri. His workshop is at Ag. Lavras Square 3A, 152 32 Halandri.

Yellow and Black
- On December 2010, in conjunction with his exhibition about the team of AEK, he published a book entitled “Yellow and Black” which included essays and paintings about the team. Verses on the Easel
- On December of 2011, he published the book “Verses on the Easel” where, inspired from the works of nine contemporary Greek poets (Yiannis Varveris, Nikos Davetas, Manos Eleftheriou, Yiannis Kontos, Stathis Koutsounis, George Markopoulos, Thanasis Niarchos, Stratis Pashalis and Antonis Fostieris) he created 117 paintings based on their poems.
The talking tables
- On November 2015 was published the book of Lida Panagiotopoulou “the talking tables” with poems and novels, based on the paintings of Nikos Oikonomidis.

- The new book of Nikos Oikonomidis “50/30” has just been publlished on the occasion of the 22nd solo exhibition in Chryssothemis Gallery in Halandri Athens, titled “Chryssothemis, 1988-2018, 30 years after” with about 320 paintings of the last 50 years.
Events
In November 1999, the Aetopoulio Center in Chalandri honored him with an event – dedicated to his artistic work.
In the summer of 2001, four separate units of paintings, were put up in the I.M Panayiotopoulos School in Pallini, Athens.
He was a member of the Aetopoulio’s board of directors between 2000 and 2002.
In April 2010, in conjunction with his exhibition in Chryssothemis Gallery entitled “People at their Limits”, an event on his work took place with Vaso Oikonomopoulou and Yiannis Emiris as speakers.
In 2012 three events – presentations of his book “Verses on the Easel” took place, one in Ianos bookstore on April 6th, one in the Aetopoulio Center on May 8th and one in Vrilissia on October 22nd.
In 2013 one event – presentation of his book “Verses on the Easel” took place, in Aspra Spitia of Boeotia on February 2nd.
In 2014 one event – presentation of his book “Verses on the Easel” took place, in Chryssothemis Gallery on February 19th.
In 2015 an event – presentation of his book “VERSES on the EASEL” took place in Brussels at THEOREMA gallery on April 26th.
In 2018 an event – presentation of his new book “50/30” took place in Halandri – Athens during his solo exhibition in “CHRYSSOTHEMIS” gallery on March 19th.

NIKOS OIKONOMIDIS
He was born in 1953, in Piraeus, Greece.
He studied Drawing and Painting in G. Vojadgis studio in Athens and in England (Bristol : Filton Tech. College and London : Slade School of Fine Arts). He has presented his work in 22 solo and many group exhibitions in Greece, Cyprus, England and Belgium. He has published 4 books:
